1.) The first thing to avoid when choosing your next Pick and Place robot or similar solution is getting more than what you need. Carefully consider the total number of axes, level of accuracy, repeatability and speed required.

2.) In contrast to mistake number one, you want to ensure that you don’t select a pick and place machine that has limited flexibility or programmability. Make sure that whatever you put in place has complete flexibility and is freely-programmable.

3.) Don’t select a Pick & Place solution that requires a high degree of maintenance. Some solutions require specific preventive maintenance items that can have a considerable impact on up time, especially if preventative maintenance is not followed correctly which will affect overall reliability and total cost of operation.
